Maintenance Tips
Another benefit of the Spray-Crete® concrete resurfacing system is the ease of maintaining finished applications. Most Spray-Crete® applications can be kept beautiful with some simple, routine maintenance.
The surface should be cleaned with a mixture of water and mild household detergents, such as Dawn® or Ivory® dish soap.
For more heavily soiled areas or mildew:
- apply detergent or chlorine to the area, scrub lightly and then spray down with water.
For stubborn stains, such as rust or some food stains:
- clean with a 70/30 mixture of muriatic acid and water. (This type of acid may be found in local home centers and pool supply stores.)
- Let the solution sit for 1-2 minutes, scrub lightly, then rinse thoroughly.
Until the job is completely cured, averaging 28 days, do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners on the surface. Also, Spray-Crete® should not be pressure washed for at least 45 days after completion.
If you notice suds on the application after the first heavy rain or excessive water, don't worry! This is normal for a finished application and will subside.
